Adult Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC)
The Adult Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) is a walk-in center for adults who are experiencing a mental health or substance use crisis and need immediate, compassionate support. Unlike a traditional emergency room — which can be stressful, expensive and not always equipped for behavioral health needs — the BHUC provides a safe, calming environment where recovery can begin right away.
Mental health and substance use challenges can happen suddenly and feel overwhelming. When someone is struggling with severe anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts or substance use, it’s hard to know where to turn. The Adult BHUC at the Stephen M. Morris Behavioral Health Center fills this critical gap by offering timely, specialized care without the long waits or high stress of an emergency room visit.
No appointment is necessary, and walk-ins are welcome. The center is open 24 hours per day, seven days per week, 365 days per year.
Eligibility
Adult Behavioral Health Urgent Care services are available to people aged 18 or over who are experiencing a mental health or substance use disorder crisis and need immediate same-day care.
People in need may be experiencing severe anxiety or panic attacks, thoughts of self-harm or suicide, aggressive or unsafe behaviors, substance use concerns, sudden emotional breakdowns or inability to cope.
